Oracle is Hiring an Applications Developer Near Pleasanton, CA

Analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end-user applications. Write code, complete programming and perform testing and debugging of applications. As a member of the software engineering division, perform detailed design based on provided design or external specifications. Assist in system planning, scheduling and implementation. Analyze system specifications and existing business processes and information systems. Build enhancements (including new product features) and resolve bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. May review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate and interact with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general. May telecommute. (385.25568)

Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, or related field.

Position requires:

  1. Python, R, jupyter notebook, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, web scraping, and other techniques (programming for Data Science);
  2. Data collection, querying data using API calls, internal database query;
  3. Data exploration, data processing (normalization, feature extraction, etc) and data modeling;
  4. Ability to tell a compelling story with data using data visualization techniques; and
  5. Risk management applied to data acquisition, data transformation and other data processes.
